Phoenix Triathlon Club is a multi sport club based in the Guildford area of Surrey. They comprise of a group of 'athletes' of all abilities who wish to participate in multi sport activities which usually involves swimming, cycling and running.

Situation
The existing Phoenix Triathlon Club site was being run by a single club member and did not really fulfill it's aim of providing not only an online presence for the club but a place where club members could arrange training and discuss club related issues.

Along with the obvious aesthetic need for a new site, there were many problems with the old site that needed to be addressed. Accessibilty and usability were lacking on the old site. Much of the old site was only viewable in Internet Explorer, restriction the potential audience greatly.

Solution
After strong requirements gathering and analysis, Danson Digital implemented a plan to completely redesign and reorganise the Phoenix Tri website from the ground up using a new, more logical information architecture to improve usability.

To tackle the headache of overseeing the website's content, Danson Digital built the new website using Joomla, the open source Content Management System (CMS). Joomla is a tool that is designed to empower our clients to make content updates themselves without needing to involve technical personnel. Danson Digital provided technical training for Joomla and took the hassle out of website upkeep for the Phoenix Triathlon Club.

Results
Phoenix Triathlon launched the new and improved website in April 2007 and has received very positive feedback from it's members. Club members have found Joomla to be very easy to use and has been able to handle almost all website updates without needing to get Danson Digital involved. The site is updated by several club members. The online forum and diary system enable club members to arrange training and events online.
